About

We specialize in fast, efficient light control

HoloTile Photonics is built around a straightforward idea: if you can shape light properly, difficult problems can be solved with far less hardware.

Our Story

From the lab, into real systems

HoloTile Photonics grew out of more than a decade of work in computational holography and high-speed spatial light modulation. The turning point was simple: this was no longer just good lab work. It was ready to become useful hardware.

We go after jobs where holographic projection has a real edge: parallel control, 3D light shaping, and software-defined optics that would be bulky, fragile, or expensive with conventional setups.

Today that means building products for two demanding markets first: volumetric manufacturing and neutral-atom quantum computing.

Our Approach

How we build

Vertical Integration

We design the SLM architecture, drive electronics, and hologram computation ourselves. That lets us tune the whole stack around the job instead of forcing customers to adapt around off-the-shelf optics.

Physics-First Design

We start with the physics, then engineer from there. If a limit matters, we want to know where it comes from and whether it is actually fixed.

Application Focus

We build systems people can use, not science projects they have to finish. Customers buy capability, not a pile of photonics parts.

Team

Built by people who know the optics and the use case

Our team brings together computational optics, device physics, quantum systems, and precision manufacturing. Between us, that adds up to more than 150 peer-reviewed papers and core patents in spatial light modulation and holographic projection.

We are based in Boston and work with research groups across North America and Europe. Our advisors come from photonics, quantum computing, and advanced manufacturing.
